[ So she says, when there's the crunch of glass under one of her sneakered feet, and they're swept into a memory. There's nothing, for miles and miles around -- or well, there's the road below her feet, and a stray house or two on the horizon, but the only thing major is the massive city in the distance. That thing that she now knows to be 'Tokyo'.
She's not just bare-footed, she's entirely naked and dirty. Her hair is an absolute wild mess and she's covered from head to toe in dirt and blood, but she runs. Her feet, these pathetic human feet she has, they hurt and ache with cuts and debris embedding themselves between her toes and under her nails, but so does her lungs as she races towards the city.
A human, she must find a human. The Bat Devil has taken something important from her, and she needs a human to get it back. It grinned evil with malice, her cat gripped in its one fist as his hostage. She stubs her bare toe harshly on a segment of broken asphalt and skids, falling flat on the ground. Her nose bleeds, and she stares down at her grit-covered palm, now scratched up and starting to bloom red from the new scrape there. Her body aches, her face, her hands, her lungs, and her bare feet.
...It's just a cat. There's plenty out there, and she was going to eat the stupid thing. All life is trivial -- she's just a devil who likes blood. The feel of it, the taste of it. And recently, she'd learned that she rather liked the warmth of it too, when the cat would cuddle up with her on those cold shelterless nights.
She gets back up. And the memory fades, leaving Power blinking slowly and staring at Rochalizo. ]
Huh? Yes, that was me. Before I came to the city. [ Her first memshare... wildin'. She doesn't seem like, bothered about her laundry being aired though, more than just kinda weirded out that it happened. ] Is that the new ploy in this city? How ridiculous!
[ And because we can, Meowy is showing up around the corner, apparently having went out to take a walk in the sun and later came to find his owner. He trots in closer and Power doesn't hesitate to scoop him up, holding his fat ass close. ]
I found him in the woods. He was a pathetic little creature when I first saw him.
I just think they're easy. I can only get along with cats, really. And they like me, too. They don't hide anything, and Meowy and Ritty at least, are good companions to sleep at night with.
... Of course, that is not a justification for your crude behaviour. I'm glad, at least, that you've tidied up since then.
[anyway.
a memory plays! wow. throughout it all, a heavy sense of guilt and shame—for so many reasons—permeates. a terrible, sinking feeling in one's stomach, like everything is going wrong.]
[ Oh, yikes. That's weird. Power's not one for feeling emotions like that, since they don't come naturally to her -- so feeling it, so true and honest and real, is really the most armour-piercing part of the entire memory. The pain of being hit, she can handle. The madman's ramblings and the shocked horror/disgust of those around them, she doesn't fully understand.
But the emotions...
She blinks once, a distinct look on her face as she tries to shake it off. ]
[ She just rubs at the area where he was hit in the memory. No lasting pain, no bruise... but when it's a memory and a significant one, the sensation lasts. ]

My name is Rochalizo! [a beat] And I'm looking now, yes.

It's less dirty and dinky than the last two, but still not very good. There's lots of broken glass anywhere, sure to make anyone without shoes suffer!

... It is good to finally be out of the water, however.

well, after that? he's left to stare back at power, stunned by the experience.]

Power is just staring back. Uhm, well. ]
That was weird.
[ Great... great icebreaker. ]
Did you see that?
no subject
also. yeah. weird.]
I... I did. That was—you?

rochalizo has no desire for a pet, but the simple affection here is something he's almost envious of.]
Hm. Well, I suppose there's value in keeping the company of a creature who will love you regardless of your faults.

Humans are complicated and kinda a disgusting species. Cats are pretty honest.
